Megan comes home!

My little sister Megan came home from her mission to Orlando Florida about a month ago. It has been so fun to see her again and spend the past month with her. Hannah is already in love with her and is loving all of the attention Megan gives her.

All of my sisters came to town during the past month for Megan's homecoming. We packed a years worth of fun into a few weeks.

We began the month water skiing and tubing with my cousin's family. This was Hannah and Mac's first time on a boat. Hannah was a little hesitant about being on a boat at first but ended up loving it. She even got on the tube and went for a ride with Jake. Mac was mostly oblivious to the whole thing except for the part when we stuffed him into a very uncomfortable life jacket.

(Hannah and Jake on the tube)

We spent a day downtown visiting Temple square.
This is a picture of all the grand kids except McKay. He was asleep in his stroller at the time.

Hannah and Grandma

Hannah loved visiting the statue of Christ. She kept standing in front of him jumping while reaching her arms way up toward him. (I wish I would have gotten it on video.)

All the girls got dressed up and danced to the music at the Children's section of the Church History Museum.

We visited Wheeler Farm,

and the zoo.

We went swimming.

We went to the farm at Thanksgiving Point. While we were there we went on a wagon ride.

Hannah got to ride a pony and loved every minute of it.

We took advantage of the 50 cent ice cream cones.

We spent an afternoon with Great Grandma and enjoyed hearing her tell stories about her childhood. She just turned 99 in July!

We went to the aquarium.

My sister took family pictures for everyone while she was visiting. Thanks again Rachel.

That wraps up a little chunk of  our summer. It was so much fun to have my sisters and their families in town for a while. We  miss seeing them already. (More posts to come from earlier this summer.)

Catching Up...

I feel so overwhelmed when I think of how far behind I am on this blog. I have decided to start with the most recent events and work backward....
Jake and I celebrated our 4th anniversary about a week ago. We went and saw Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat at the Hale Center Theatre and ended the evening with an amazing dinner at The Melting Pot. It was the first time either of us had been there and we both rolled out of the restaurant and into bed that night with very happy and full tummies.

The greatest accomplishments and blessings over the last 4 years....

are these two little cuties in our lives.

1 Month already!

1 month ago today this little guy joined our family. At his 2 week doctor apt. Mac had gained back his birth weight plus some. He weighed 9 lbs 2 oz. I feel like he is probably up to 10 lbs now. He is such a great little eater and so far (we will cross our fingers) has been such a great sleeper. We all love him so much! Hannah has adjusted surprisingly well (again I am crossing my fingers) and she loves to shower him with hugs and kisses. (We took these pics when Mac was 3 weeks old.)

Introducing...

McKay Jacob! Little Mac surprised us and arrived 4 days ahead of schedule on April 16th at 1:18 pm. Coming early didn't stop him from being a whopping 8 lbs 10 oz (exactly the same weight as his sister) and 22 inches long.

18 months

Hannah turned 18 months a few weeks ago.
At her 18 month appointment her measurements were:
Weight: 22 lbs 14 oz (30%)
Length: 32.5 inches (80%)
Head: 18.1 m (30%)

Here are a few of the fun things Hannah has been doing over the past few months:

She loves dressing up. This is one of her favorite things to wear. (It is a little purse she uses as a hat.)

She loves walking around in our shoes.

More dressing up.

This is the first time (and so far the only time) Hannah has colored on something she wasn't supposed to. I am sure it is only a matter of time before it happens again. I was cleaning the bathroom and turned around to find Hannah with a blue marker coloring all over the toilet seat. Thanks to a magic eraser it all came off.

Hannah and I spent one morning together building this snowman. It was all I could do to keep Hannah from eating the eyes and nose off of it (grapes and a carrot). The snowman lasted for a few days and every time Hannah was over by our back door she had to stop to wave and say hi to the snowman.

We went on a short trip to St. George. We didn't pick the best weekend for weather, but we were still able to enjoy the outdoors a little. Hannah loved feeding crackers to the ducks and watching them bob in and out of the water. Every time the duck disappeared under the water Hannah would get a concerned look on her face and say "oh no, all gone".

Hannah and I have been taking a mom and tot swim class over the past month. It has been a lot of fun. Hannah cried through the whole first class, but since then has warmed up to it and loves it. She loves to talk about splashing and kicking (and will do the actions) when you bring up her swimming class.

We took the class with some friends, Abby and Kenny.

This is Hannah's serious floating on her back face.

The last day of class. Hannah is enjoying the candy the instructor gave the kids.

We have been painting our house. Hannah has insisted on helping when she is still up at night and we are working on it.

Hannah loves her baths. There is a funny story behind this picture though. One night I put bubbles in her bath thinking she would love them. When she was still outside of the bathtub and saw them starting to form she got really excited, but once I put her in the bath she started screaming and cried throughout the entire bath. She wouldn't let any of the bubbles touch her body or she would start crying harder and acted like they were going hurt her. The next night we were getting her bath ready and she kept asking for the bubbles. I tried to explain to her that we weren't going to put them in because of what had happened the previous night. She kept insisting and so I put a few in the tub. She was still a little weary when I put her in with them, but gradually warmed up to them. Now she can't take a bath without putting the bubbles in and as you can tell from this picture she loves them.

Hannah is still such a people person. She started going to nursery about a month early and went right into the class without any hesitation. She loves being around other kids and adults and actually prefers them to me most of the time. It is nice that she is so independent, but somtimes I get a little sad that she is not more of a mommy's girl:)
She still loves basketball. Jake is currently serving in the Young Men's organization in our ward and has taken her to a few basketball games. I was a little worried she would just want to get down and run around, but she sits on Jake's lap during the whole game and claps and cheers right along with everyone else. When they get home from the games she usually spends the next half hour telling me all about the "baketball".

Happy 18 months Hannah. There is never a dull moment with you around. Thanks for keeping us entertained and for being such a sweet and good natured little girl. We are so blessed to have you in our family.
